A Happy Cobbler Completing Story

Once there lived a happy cobbler. He spent his days working and singing from morning to evening. He had a neighbor who was a banker. He was very rich. One day, the banker came to the cobbler and said, "How much do you earn a year?" The cobbler said, "I don't know, and I never think of it." Hearing this, the banker said, "I know you are a very poor man and your income is very low. So, you lead a very miserable life. I will help you to change your fortune.” Then the cobbler said, “Sir, my income is low, but I am happy with what I have. I don't want anything more.” The next day, the banker came to the cobbler with a bag of money and said, “Look, there is a lot of money in this bag. I have brought all this money for you. Take this money." The cobbler was surprised to see so much money together and refused to accept it. Then the rich banker said, "You can change your fortune with this money, and this money will help you a lot in danger." Hearing this, the cobbler took the bag of money and thanked him. Then the cobbler reached home with the bag of money. Reaching home, the cobbler faced great trouble with the bag of money. He could not find any suitable place to keep the money safe. However, once he dug a hole in his house and kept the bag of money in the hole. Despite keeping the bag of money in the hole, the cobbler could not be free from tension. He always thought that his bag of money could be stolen at any time. So, he could not sleep for even a single moment at night. He always thought of that money. Besides, he could not concentrate his mind on his work for that money. Finally, he realized that he had a lot of money but no happiness or peace in his mind. The next day, he took the bag of money and went to the rich banker. He said to the rich banker, "Sir, take your bag of money back. This money has taken away the peace of my mind and the sleep of my eyes. Consequently, I do not need this kind of money." Saying this, the cobbler went away, keeping the bag of money there.

Moral of the story: Money can't bring happiness. Happiness lies in contentment.
