King Midas Completing Story
Once there was a greedy king whose name
was King Midas. He loved gold very much. He had a lot of wealth, but he wanted
more and more. He thought that if everything he touched became gold, he would
be the happiest man in the world. So, he always prayed to God to give him a
magical power so that he would turn everything into gold. After a long time,
God granted his prayer. At this, the king was very happy and thanked God. One
day, early in the morning, he went to his garden. Suddenly, he saw an apple on
the ground. He picked it up. As soon as he touched it, the apple turned into
gold. He was very surprised to see it. After that, everything he touched became
gold. He was very excited and happy. Then he went back to his palace. When he
entered the palace, his little daughter ran to him. The king picked her up in
his arms. But alas! As soon as he touched her, she turned into a golden statue.
The king was shocked. Within a moment, all his happiness turned into sorrow. He
understood his mistake and prayed to God again to take back the magical power.
Finally, God accepted his request and took away the magical power. Immediately,
his daughter became human again. The king was very happy to get his daughter
back. From that day, King Midas gave up his greed and started leading an honest
life
Moral: Greed brings
sorrow.
