What is play to one is death to another story
There were many frogs in a pond. Some of the frogs in that pond raised their heads above the water occasionally and croaked loudly. One day, some boys were playing beside the pond. Hearing the croaking of the frogs, they started throwing stones at them. All the frogs went under the water together. But the boys stood there with stones in their hands. They found this new play very interesting. Whenever the frogs raised their heads above the water, the boys threw stones at them. Many frogs were seriously injured, and some died. Finally, an old frog raised his head and said, “Oh, boys! Please stop this cruel play. Don’t throw stones at us.” The boys said, “It’s just a play. We enjoy it. So, why should we stop?” The old frog replied, “What is a play to you is death to us. So you should stop it.” Hearing this, the boys felt very ashamed of their cruel act. Then they stopped playing and left the place.
Moral of the story: What is play to one is death to another.
